Etihad Rail has unveiled the full plan for the UAE’s national passenger rail network, marking a major milestone in the country’s transport development.
The network will connect 11 cities and regions, linking communities across the Emirates with strategically placed stations to form the nation’s first fully integrated passenger rail system.

The project is designed to offer safe, reliable, and efficient travel for residents, citizens, and tourists alike. Initially, four main stations will operate in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah, with additional stations to be rolled out in phases.
Etihad Rail’s modern passenger trains are designed to connect Dubai and Abu Dhabi in under 57 minutes by 2026, combining speed with sustainability. The trains can reach top speeds of 200 km/h, aiming to cut both travel time and carbon emissions.
Inside, the trains feature spacious, modern interiors focused on passenger comfort and convenience. The project also reflects the UAE’s commitment to innovation and greener transport solutions by reducing reliance on road travel.
Beyond transport, the project is expected to create more than 9,000 new jobs by 2030, spanning engineering, construction, train operations, logistics, and maintenance.
Etihad Rail is a central part of the UAE’s long-term strategy to enhance national infrastructure. Once operational, the service will transform daily commuting, support tourism, and drive economic growth across the Emirates.
