Mahindra has officially launched the XUV 7XO in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV replaces the XUV700 and follows Mahindra’s updated naming strategy, similar to the earlier transition from XUV300 to XUV 3XO.

Pre-bookings for the XUV 7XO began last month at Rs 21,000. Test drives are set to commence from January 8, while bookings and deliveries will open from January 14. Customers who pre-booked the SUV will receive priority deliveries.
Design and Styling
The XUV 7XO carries forward the familiar silhouette of the XUV700 while introducing subtle but noticeable updates. At the front, it features a redesigned fascia with revised LED DRLs, new headlamps, and an updated grille and bumper. The lower bumper now houses quad LED fog lamps.
In profile, the SUV gets new 19-inch alloy wheels and continues with flush door handles. At the rear, it sports a redesigned bumper and inverted L-shaped LED tail lamps. Mahindra has also introduced new exterior colour options. Inside, the cabin now adopts a beige and tan colour theme.
Unlike its predecessor, the XUV 7XO is offered exclusively in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The earlier 5-seater layout, previously available on the XUV700, has been discontinued.
Powertrain and Ride Quality
Mechanical options remain unchanged. The XUV 7XO continues with both petrol and diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic transmissions.
The petrol variant uses a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The diesel version is powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 181 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. It also offers 6-speed manual and automatic options, along with an all-wheel-drive configuration.
Mahindra claims improved ride comfort, thanks to the new Davinci Damper system. The setup includes a McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension with control blade, DCx piston valve, and advanced hydraulic rebound stoppers.
Features and Technology
Staying true to its lineage, the XUV 7XO is loaded with features. Highlights include a 540-degree camera system, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio setup with Dolby Vision and Atmos, auto-dimming IRVMs, memory-enabled ORVMs, and a panoramic sunroof.
The SUV also offers a new triple 12.3-inch screen layout comprising a digital instrument cluster, infotainment display, and passenger screen. Additional features include front and rear ventilated seats, wireless chargers with active cooling for both rows, dual-zone climate control, and power-adjustable front seats with Boss mode for the co-driver.
Safety
Safety continues to be a strong focus. The XUV 7XO is built on a platform that has already secured a five-star safety rating. It comes equipped with an upgraded Level-2 ADAS suite, six airbags, ESP, EBD, hill descent control, TPMS, and an electronic parking brake.
Variants and Pricing
Mahindra has introduced the XUV 7XO in six variants: AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T, and AX7L. Petrol prices start at Rs 13.66 lakh, while diesel variants begin at Rs 14.96 lakh. The range-topping diesel AWD AX7L MT variant is priced at Rs 24.92 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
With updated styling, a feature-rich cabin, and improved ride comfort, the XUV 7XO positions itself as a comprehensive upgrade over the XUV700 while retaining the strengths that made its predecessor popular.
