Baishakhi Banerjee, Executive Vice President and Regional Head – Branch Banking at Axis Bank, emphasized that awareness is the first and most important step in digital security. She noted that institutions with multiple layers of protection offer very secure platforms, but users must also be careful with their personal credentials, such as PINs and passwords.

“Most frauds happen because people unknowingly share personal information. If you follow the guidelines of your bank or institution, these platforms are extremely secure,” Baishakhi said. She advised being part of organizations that take cybersecurity seriously and have multiple safeguards in place.
Advice for Women Entrepreneurs
Speaking to women entrepreneurs, Baishakhi encouraged persistence and confidence. “You’ve already dared to dream and started acting on it. No matter how small your beginning, don’t lose heart. Overnight, a lot can happen,” she said.
She highlighted the support available through financial institutions, government initiatives, and mentorship programs. Staying updated on digital trends, AI, and technology can help scale businesses efficiently.
Focusing on Quality and Compliance
Baishakhi stressed the importance of balancing growth with quality and ethical standards. “India today values compliance and trust. Decide whether you want to focus on just scale, or scale combined with quality, conscience, and compliance. Building a trustworthy brand is key,” she said.
She concluded by urging women entrepreneurs to invest in themselves, leverage available platforms, and continuously adapt to the evolving digital landscape to create a niche and a strong reputation in the market.
