Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal attended the 54th UAE National Day celebrations held in Delhi on Monday, highlighting the strong partnership between India and the United Arab Emirates. He emphasized that both nations are working toward the “shared prosperity of their people.”
Shared Vision for the Future
Speaking at the event, Goyal noted that India’s long-term vision of Vikasit Bharat 2047 aligns closely with the UAE’s national plan, ‘We the UAE 2031.’ He described this alignment as a reflection of the growing collaboration and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Strengthening Educational Ties
Goyal also pointed to the expanding cooperation in the field of education. Institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), and Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) are establishing campuses in Dubai. He suggested that these educational partnerships could serve as a model for future international collaborations.
Acknowledging UAE Hospitality
On social media, Goyal expressed his gratitude to H.E. Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Alshaali, the UAE Ambassador to India, for the warm hospitality extended during the celebrations. He tweeted that he was proud of the India-UAE partnership, which is driven by trust, innovation, and a shared vision for the future.
Commemorating UAE’s Formation
The UAE celebrates its National Day on December 2, marking the 54th anniversary of its formation in 1971. Initially, six emirates—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah—came together to form a federation, followed by Ras al Khaimah joining the union the following year, completing the nation as it exists today
