The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has granted environmental clearance to Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) to build a ₹136-crore five-star hotel within the premises of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.

The planned hotel will feature 240 rooms, food and beverage facilities with seating for 660 guests, and a built-up area of nearly 34,000 sq metres. The project site, currently used as open parking, was transferred to Adani under a long-term concession agreement with Airports Authority of India (AAI) in January 2021.
The hotel’s design includes sustainability measures: an on-site sewage treatment plant to recycle water (meeting about half of daily water needs), organic waste converters, energy-efficient systems targeting up to 20% lower energy use, and transplantation of around 40 existing trees within the airport boundary.
Work on the project is expected to take around three years. Officials estimate the development could create about 300 direct jobs and nearly 900 indirect jobs, boosting local employment and enhancing travel infrastructure in Kerala’s capital.
As part of Adani’s broader “City Side Development” plan, the hotel is aimed not only at air travelers but also at foreign crew arriving via the nearby Vizhinjam International Seaport, further integrating airport and port-side infrastructure.
