Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said India is positioned at the crossroads of clean energy and artificial intelligence—two forces that will define this century.
In a post on X, he shared his article from The Times of India, where he discussed how the Adani-Google partnership in Visakhapatnam could help build an energy-efficient, AI-driven future led by India. He said the aim is to make India the world’s most sustainable intelligence hub.
Adani highlighted that the $15 billion collaboration between Adani Group and Google to set up India’s largest AI and data centre hub in Visakhapatnam marks a major step in redefining national infrastructure. He called it a strategic move to place India at the centre of the global AI economy, not just a business investment.
The project, run through Adani Enterprises’ joint venture AdaniConneX, will create a gigawatt-scale data centre powered entirely by green energy and supported by a subsea cable network. The AI campus will power advanced computing and innovation across India from 2026 to 2030.
The partnership, developed with AdaniConneX and Airtel, also involves large-scale investments in renewable energy generation, transmission lines, and storage systems across Andhra Pradesh.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the project will help prepare India for the AI era by giving businesses, researchers, and innovators the infrastructure to build and scale with AI. He added that working with Adani would help bring Google’s AI capabilities closer to local communities, combining performance, security, and global reach.
