Rahul Sadasivan Scores Another Win

With Dies Irae, Rahul Sadasivan, known for Bhoothakaalam and Bramayugam, has once again proven his command over the horror genre. The film showcases Pranav Mohanlal in a grounded, mature performance that anchors the psychological tension. The cast also includes Arun Ajikumar, Jaya Kurup, Manohari Joy, and Gibin Gopinath.

Critics have praised the film for blending emotion with horror. ETimes noted that Dies Irae captures “poignant moments” of guilt, growth, and shared delusion while balancing psychological, mystery, and thriller elements. Reviewers highlighted the film’s visual foreshadowing, including a tense close-up of a buffalo that sets the tone for the chilling final act. With strong word of mouth and growing theater turnout, Dies Irae is shaping up to be one of Malayalam cinema’s standout hits of the year.
