Tesla Group a.s., a leading battery energy storage systems maker, and SRAM & MRAM Group, a global technology and sustainable development firm, have signed a $1 billion agreement to establish electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing facilities in India and other countries.
Gigafactories Across 16 Countries
Under the deal, five gigafactories will be set up in India, with additional facilities in 15 countries, including the US, Malaysia, Oman, Brazil, the UAE, and Cambodia. Each factory will span roughly 500 acres and include comprehensive battery manufacturing and storage supply chains.

Roles and Responsibilities
SRAM & MRAM Group will handle regulatory approvals, grants, subsidies, tax incentives, and local partnerships, while Tesla Group a.s. will manage the design, engineering, and construction of the factories to ensure smooth execution.
Building a Global EV Supply Chain
Sailesh L Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM, said the collaboration will create one of the largest EV battery manufacturing and storage supply chains globally. Nanda K Bhagi, President of Tesla Group a.s., emphasized that the partnership combines advanced battery energy storage system (BESS) technology with SRAM’s global expertise to build not just factories, but sustainable communities driving the future of energy.
