Sudden Demise During a Polo Match
Kapur passed away at the age of 53 while holidaying in the United Kingdom with his family. He reportedly suffered a heart attack during a polo match, a sport he was passionate about. His death was confirmed by both Sona Comstar and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), where he previously served as president.

He took over Sona Comstar in 2015 following the death of his father, Surinder Kapur, who had founded the company in 1995.
