German multinational Festo has opened a new manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of ₹500 crore. The plant will focus on producing advanced pneumatic automation components used in factory and process automation. Spread over 75 acres, the facility aims to cater to both domestic and international markets.

The new Hosur plant is expected to create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs initially, with plans to expand both production capacity and workforce in the coming years. This expansion aligns with Festo’s commitment to strengthening its manufacturing presence in India.

Thomas Böck, Chairman of Festo’s management board, said the plant marks a milestone as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary. He highlighted that the facility reflects Festo’s vision of sustainable growth and technological leadership for the next century.
Global Strategy and Localisation
Festo is expanding its global research, production, and logistics footprint to offer faster, more flexible solutions closer to customers. The company follows a “local for local” approach to shorten supply chains, reduce transport emissions, and build resilience in operations.
Commitment at Global Investors Meet 2024
At the Global Investors Meet 2024, Festo India had announced plans to establish this greenfield plant in Krishnagiri district with a proposed investment of ₹520 crore and over 2,000 jobs expected. This project supports the DMK government’s industrial development goals.
