Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV), operated by Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., reported remarkable growth during the financial year 2024–25, solidifying its position as a key aviation hub in South India. The airport handled 4.89 million passengers between April 2024 and March 2025, reflecting a 10% year-on-year increase from 4.41 million in the previous fiscal. Both domestic and international traffic contributed to this rise, with over 2.59 million domestic and 2.29 million international passengers using the airport, particularly from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. TRV also set a new single-day record on December 22, 2024, managing 16,578 passengers and 101 aircraft movements, surpassing its previous high from January that year.
On average, TRV serves 14,614 passengers daily with 86 aircraft movements, connecting to more than 9 domestic and 14 international destinations. Aircraft traffic movements rose 6% year-on-year, reaching 33,316 in FY 2024–25, compared to 31,342 the year before. This increase was supported by major infrastructure and technology upgrades undertaken by the airport, including the introduction of robotic cleaning systems and automated stormwater maintenance tools. The number of check-in counters was increased, and e-gates were installed at terminals T1 and T2 to speed up security clearance and improve passenger flow.

To enhance overall passenger convenience, TRV introduced new facilities such as free Wi-Fi coupon kiosks for non-Indian SIM users and electric buses for efficient airport-to-city transfers. Its connectivity also expanded with new domestic routes to Ahmedabad and Pune, and international additions like Kuala Lumpur and Hani Madhoo in the Maldives. Frequency of flights to major destinations including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Delhi also saw a rise.
The airport’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence earned it several awards during the year. These include the QCFI National Convention Excellence Award, a Gold Award from Apex Foundation for environmental efforts, Zero Waste to Landfill recognition from CII, and a Pollution Control Excellence Award from Greentech Foundation. TRV also maintained a strong safety record with 4.8 million safe man-hours, achieved through stringent safety protocols, continuous training, and regular inspections. Overall, TRV Airport’s performance in 2024–25 reflects its growing stature and readiness to meet increasing passenger demand with efficiency and innovation.
