Even before its theatrical release, L2: Empuraan has made history in Indian cinema. The highly anticipated Malayalam film has set an unprecedented milestone with its overseas advance bookings.
Record-Breaking Pre-Sales on BookMyShow
On March 21, when bookings opened, a strong response was expected—but the film went beyond all predictions. L2: Empuraan shattered records on BookMyShow by selling 96.14K tickets in just one hour, surpassing the previous record held by Leo (82K tickets per hour). This feat was made possible as most theaters opened their bookings simultaneously, resulting in an overwhelming response from eager fans.
A Sequel Packed with Star Power

The film is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy, following the massive success of the 2019 blockbuster. Mohanlal reprises his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam (Stephen Nedumpally), alongside a star-studded cast featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Fazil, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and more. Adding international appeal, Game of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn makes his Indian cinema debut.
A Pan-Indian Spectacle
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan is produced by Lyca Productions, Aashirvad Cinemas, and Sree Gokulam Movies. The film is set for a grand release in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada, with Dil Raju’s SVC Cinemas handling distribution in Telugu states.
With its record-breaking buzz and massive fan anticipation, L2: Empuraan is already on track to be one of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters.
