Swiggy has expanded its partnership with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide food delivery services at 100 railway stations across 20 states. This initiative allows train passengers to order from a wide variety of meals, with access to over 7 million menu items from more than 60,000 brands and 35 different cuisines.

Seamless Ordering and Guaranteed Delivery
Swiggy ensures a hassle-free ordering process where passengers can pre-order their meals by searching “Train” on the Swiggy app and entering their PNR number. The company guarantees seat delivery or a full refund, enhancing customer confidence. Additionally, Swiggy has introduced eco-friendly cutlery with every meal, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and hygiene.
Swiggy’s Growing Presence on Indian Railways
Since partnering with IRCTC in March 2024, Swiggy has delivered 35,000 orders within a train’s 60-second halt. Vijayawada Junction recorded the highest number of orders, followed by Nellore, Secunderabad Junction, and Katpadi Junction. Interestingly, Kalyan Junction saw the largest single order—41 burgers and 40 fries. Biryani emerged as the most popular dish, with over 100,000 orders, while dosa, idli, and vada were the top breakfast choices.

Diverse Meal Options for Travelers
Beyond traditional train food, passengers are exploring diverse cuisines such as Tibetan baked cheesy momos, Mexican quesadillas, cinnamon churros, and Lebanese shawarma. Swiggy plans to expand its food delivery service to even more railway stations in the coming months.

Zomato also launched its ‘Food Delivery in Trains’ service in partnership with IRCTC, covering 88 cities. Since its collaboration, Swiggy has reportedly fulfilled over 10 lakh orders across 100 railway stations, further strengthening its presence in the railway food delivery sector.
