Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with a delegation led by Michael Williamson, President of Lockheed Martin International, to explore opportunities for aircraft manufacturing in India.

The discussions aimed at further strengthening India’s aerospace and defense sectors, in line with the government’s “Make in India” initiative. Goyal highlighted the importance of domestic manufacturing to enhance India’s capabilities in the defense and aerospace industries.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Goyal expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Explored opportunities for manufacturing aircraft in India to further strengthen the ‘Make in India’ initiative in the aerospace and defense sectors.”
