Vangmayi Parakala, daughter of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, was born on May 20, 1991, in Chennai. Despite coming from a politically influential family, she has chosen to stay away from the public eye. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi and later earned a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Marriage to Pratik Doshi
In June 2023, Vangmayi married Pratik Doshi in a private ceremony in Bengaluru. Doshi, a close aide to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been working with him since 2014 and currently serves as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The wedding followed traditional Brahmin rituals and was attended by close family and friends.
