Danny Denzongpa, known for his iconic villainous roles in Bollywood during the 80s and 90s, is also a successful entrepreneur. Few know that the legendary actor is the owner of Yuksom Breweries, a thriving alcohol business that produces a range of beers popular in India’s northeastern states.

Yuksom Breweries: A Family-Run Empire

Founded and run by Danny Denzongpa and his family, Yuksom Breweries is based in Sikkim. The company has grown to become one of the largest beer producers in India, selling over 3 million cases annually. It ranks as India’s third-largest beer brand, with a strong presence in the northeastern states. The company also operates breweries in Odisha and Assam, expanding its reach.

The Beer Brands of Yuksom Breweries

Yuksom Breweries produces 11 distinct beer varieties, catering to various tastes. Some popular brands include:

  • Dansberg Diet
  • Denzong 9000
  • Jhoom
  • Himalayan Blue
  • Yeti

These beers have carved a niche in the competitive Indian market due to their quality and variety.

Pricing and Popularity

Yuksom Breweries offers competitive prices for its beers, with prices starting at ₹105 in Odisha and varying according to the beer type. The affordability combined with quality has made these beers a favorite in the region.

Bollywood’s Early Connection to Alcohol Business

While many Bollywood stars like Sanjay Dutt and Aryan Khan have recently entered the alcohol industry, Danny Denzongpa was a pioneer. His venture into the alcohol business predates the trend, and his enterprise continues to be one of the largest in the industry.
