Dr Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Kerala government to create an environment conducive to the growth of entrepreneurs. He believes startup communities play a significant role in providing such opportunities. Tharoor pointed out that the entrepreneurial world is shifting from major metro cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad to tier-2 cities, which will benefit regions like Thiruvananthapuram. For this shift to be successful, it is crucial for Kerala to facilitate a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs, and organizations like Huddle Global can play a pivotal role in this.
While speaking with Nisha Krishnan, CEO of Channel IAM, Tharoor highlighted the growing recognition of Huddle Global on the global stage. Initially, the event saw participation mainly from Delhi and other Indian cities, but over time, representatives from around the world have joined the startup platform. This shift opens up global opportunities for entrepreneurs. One of Huddle’s key strengths is its ability to connect individuals from diverse sectors, helping startups expand their networks. Tharoor believes that Huddle Global can continue attracting international startups to Kerala and India by focusing on creating the right ecosystem.
Tharoor also touched upon the future of technology, predicting that quantum computing will be the next big revolution in the tech world. While AI and robotics are already well-established fields, he sees immense potential for growth in quantum technology, which remains a largely unexplored area.
As Kerala works to create more opportunities for startups, Tharoor’s insights highlight the importance of fostering an innovative and global network.
