Lakshmi Mittal, the steel magnate and Chairman of ArcelorMittal, has set a new benchmark in luxury with his $125 million yacht, the Amevi. This opulent vessel, valued at approximately Rs 1,037 crore, is not just a showcase of wealth but a symbol of Mittal’s exquisite taste and success. The Amevi stands as a testament to Mittal’s status among the elite, eclipsing even the most renowned names in the luxury yacht industry.

Mittal’s Remarkable Wealth

With an impressive net worth of approximately $14.8 billion (Rs 124,215 crore), Lakshmi Mittal commands significant respect for both his financial success and his refined taste in luxury. As Chairman of ArcelorMittal, the world’s second-largest steelmaking company, Mittal’s wealth underscores his substantial impact on the global economy. His fortunes, which once placed him among the top three richest people globally in 2005, reflect his remarkable business acumen.

Amevi: A Masterpiece of Nautical Design

Mittal’s yacht, the Amevi, represents a pinnacle of nautical elegance. Valued at around $125 million (approximately Rs 1,037 crore), the Amevi spans 262 meters and exemplifies modern luxury and design. Crafted by the esteemed Italian yacht design studio Nuvolari Lenard and decorated by renowned designer Alberto Pinto in 2007, the Amevi is much more than a vessel; it is a floating palace.

Luxurious Features and Amenities

The Amevi is equipped with a plethora of lavish amenities designed to cater to the highest standards of comfort. The yacht features a heated swimming pool, a grand sky lounge with panoramic views, a cinema hall for private screenings, a state-of-the-art gym, a massage room, and a stabilized pool table. Its helipad facilitates easy travel to and from the yacht. Accommodating up to 16 guests in eight VIP suites and housing 22 staff members, the Amevi offers unparalleled service and privacy.

Performance and Engineering Excellence

Powered by twin diesel MTU 16V 595 TE70 16-cylinder engines, the Amevi can cruise at speeds of up to 14 knots. This combination of performance and opulence ensures that the Amevi is not only a symbol of wealth but also a marvel of engineering excellence.

Comparing Luxury: Indian Billionaires’ Yachting Choices

While Lakshmi Mittal’s Amevi sets a new standard in luxury yachting, other Indian billionaires also indulge in their own extravagant maritime pursuits. Mukesh Ambani, known for his extensive collection of lavish assets, owns a 58-meter-long yacht valued at around $100 million (approximately Rs 829 crore). Anil Ambani, his younger brother, further contributes to the family’s reputation for luxury with his yacht, TIAN, valued at approximately Rs 200 crore.
