Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as King Rama X, is often cited as one of the world’s wealthiest individuals. His opulent lifestyle includes an extensive collection of diamonds, luxury cars, vast expanses of land, and numerous other extravagant assets. According to the Financial Times, the royal family’s total wealth is estimated to exceed USD 40 billion, or approximately Rs 3.2 lakh crore.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s extensive real estate holdings cover 6,560 hectares (16,210 acres) across Thailand, including 17,000 contracts in the capital, Bangkok. He holds a 23 percent stake in Siam Commercial Bank, Thailand’s second-largest bank, and a 33.3 percent stake in Siam Cement Group, the country’s largest industrial conglomerate.
One of the crown jewels of his collection is the 545.67-carat Golden Jubilee diamond, which adorns the Thai King’s crown. This diamond is reputed to be the world’s largest and most valuable, with an estimated worth of up to Rs 98 crore.
King Vajiralongkorn’s luxurious lifestyle extends to his aircraft and vehicles. He owns a fleet of 38 aircraft, including 21 helicopters, and his collection features Boeing and Airbus planes as well as a Sukhoi Superjet. The annual maintenance cost for these aircraft amounts to Rs 524 crore. Additionally, his car collection boasts over 300 high-end vehicles, including limousines and Mercedes-Benz models. The king also possesses 52 boats, each adorned with gold carvings.
Despite his vast wealth, King Maha Vajiralongkorn does not reside in the grand royal palace, which covers an area of 2,351,000 square feet. While his possessions are impressive, he is still surpassed in wealth by Indian billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani.
