Thirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the richest Hindu temple in the world, Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala, recorded a bank balance of Rs. 18,817 crore. The temple’s income has increased due to a rise in stable investments across banks, both within and outside the country. In the past 12 years, TTD has allocated the highest dividends from the income generated by investments. In 2024, it distributed dividends worth Rs. 1,161 crore to various banks. This year’s income is the highest in TTD’s history. Every year, the temple trust earns Rs. 1,600 crore or more from dividends alone. Moreover, in the previous fiscal year, the temple trust deposited 1,031 kg of gold, further increasing its gold reserves to 11,329 kg.

The temple attracts millions of devotees from various parts of India and around the world each year. In the past 12 years, TTD has amassed Rs. 8,467 crore from investments made during this period, with its total savings reaching Rs. 18,817 crore as of April 2024. This is the highest bank balance among all temple trusts in India. Till 2012, TTD had Rs. 4,820 crore in savings, but between 2013 and 2024, it accumulated Rs. 8,467 crore. The temple trust’s savings were only Rs. 500 crore during 2021 and 2022, due to the impact of COVID-19.

In 2017, TTD’s highest annual investment of Rs. 1,153 crore was surpassed by this year’s deposit of Rs. 1,161 crore. As per TTD’s calculations, the total funds in banks have increased to Rs. 13,287 crore, surpassing the previous Rs. 13,287 crore mark. This year, various trusts managed by the temple board, such as the Sri Venkateswara Nithya Annadanam Trust and the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust, have collected Rs. 5,529 crore in funds from devotees.
