The field of artificial intelligence (AI) has permeated various sectors, including education and medicine, and has now made its mark in the world of music and cinema. In particular, the use of AI in music has become evident in the Telugu film “Hi Nanna,” where the technology played a role in the composition of the soundtrack.

The movie’s background music, a product of AI technology, marks the first recorded instance in the country where AI has been utilized for a film’s musical composition. Director Hisham Abdul Wahab, who is also the music director for the film, employed AI in the film’s interview music sequence. The song, sung by renowned Telugu superstar Nani, showcases the integration of AI technology into the realm of cinema.

AI’s influence extends beyond music to various fields, and the film industry is no exception. AI is increasingly being used in scriptwriting, shooting, post-production, casting, and marketing in Bollywood. The song composed with AI technology in “Hi Nanna” stands as a testament to the expanding role of AI in the creative industries.

Notably, Bollywood playback singer Arjit Singh, praising the use of AI in the movie’s music, emphasized the need for integrating AI into other aspects of filmmaking. The impact of AI in the entertainment industry is likely to grow further, with debates on the necessity of using AI technology in Bollywood’s scripting, shooting, and production processes gaining momentum in recent times.
