The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia announced that citizens can now invite their Muslim friends from abroad to perform Umrah on a “personal visit visa.”These personal visas, available online, come in two types: single entry and multiple entry.
In addition to performing Umrah rituals in Makkah and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, visitors can explore various tourism destinations within the Kingdom. Interested individuals can apply for the personal visit visa through the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ visa platform. The single entry visa is valid for 90 days, while the multiple entry visa allows visitors to stay in the Kingdom for up to 90 days per visit, with a total validity of one year.
The Ministry stated that the personal visit visa offers four key benefits: Issuance for one or several trips, opportunity to perform Umrah rituals and visit the Prophet’s mosque, exploration of various tourist spots across all regions and cities of Saudi Arabia, and a chance to visit historical sites and enriching destinations in the diverse cities of the kingdom.
Saudi citizens can invite multiple guests at the same time on a personal visit visa, according a previous update by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah.
Guests need to pay fees and Medical Insurance after filling out the visa application form online and must submit the application and passport to the Saudi Embassy or Consulate in the country where they reside, or through accredited centres.
