Historic moment: Kerala’s Vande Bharat flagged off by PM Modi

Kerala’s first Vande Bharat train journey began as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged it off at Thampanoor Central Railway Station. This has become a historical moment for Kerala. The Prime Minister interacted with 42 selected students in the C2 coach of the Vande Bharat train, which was halted at Platform No. 1 of Thampanoor Railway Station before the flag-off.

Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, and MP Shashi Tharoor were present at the flag-off ceremony.

Modi also spoke to loco pilots. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also with Modi in the train. The Prime Minister was given a grand welcome when he reached Thampanoor railway station. Religious, social, political leaders, and stars have joined Vande Bharat’s maiden journey. 1000 students will travel for free from various stations.

Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of Thiruvananthapuram Central, Varkala Sivagiri and Kozhikode Railway Stations, today in Kerala.

The Prime Minister reached Thiruvananthapuram from Kochi at around ten in the morning. Modi was received at the airport by Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Mayor Arya Rajendran, Shashi Tharoor MP, Minister Antony Raju, and Chief Secretary VP Joy.

In the wake of the assassination threat and the leak of Intelligence’s security scheme, the Prime Minister has been given tight security in the capital.
