The Nation’s Technology, according to the Prime Minister, is searching for new digital goods. At the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Kochi Water Metro and the first-ever Digital Science Park of the upcoming Digital University in Thiruvananthapuram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered remarks.
Vande Bharat trains made by y are indigenous to India. India also produces metro trains that travel to different cities. The Kochi water metro boats are similarly made in India. There is no question that the water metro will gain popularity for backwater tourism and ease transit for residents of Kochi’s outlying islands. In Kochi, Inter-modular connectivity would be accessible at bus stops, metro stations, and boat jetties. With the completion of the Rail Track Acceleration Project, semi-hybrid trains would be able to travel between Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore, according to the Prime Minister.
At a ceremony conducted at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, the railway line between Dindigul, Palani, and Palakkad was fully electrified and dedicated to the country. Thiruvananthapuram Central, Varkala Sivagiri and Kozhikode railway stations will be uplifted to International standards, Development of Thiruvananthapuram rail sector centred on Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram and Nemam railway stations at a cost of 156 crores will be upgraded as part of an 1140 crore project.
The project, which would cost 381 crores and enhance railway speeds on the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur segment to 110 kilometres per hour, was also officially started by the Prime Minister. Attending the ceremony were Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, and State Transport Minister Antony Raju.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the crowd on the occasion and reminded that the “Left Democratic Front administration is making progress towards transforming Kerala into a Knowledge Economy and Innovation Society. In response to the Chief Minister’s remarks, the Prime Minister was thanked on behalf of the Kerala Government and the entire State’s population for coming to lay the foundation stone for the Digital Science Park and dedicate the Kochi Water Metro to the Nation.
“I am sure that both these initiatives under the Government of Kerala will emerge as models for the entire country. Additionally, we appreciate that you are dedicating several rail projects in Kerala to the nation and laying the cornerstone for them. Initiatives that require a special focus include developing our railway stations, building new rail lines, doubling and electrifying existing rail lines, enhancing our signal systems, speeding up our trains and introducing new trains. I have no doubt that we can make incredible progress in these areas if the Federal and State Governments collaborate diligently. Make Kerala’s growth a benchmark for cooperative federalism in the coming days. I’ll sign off by thanking you on behalf of Kerala for assigning a Vande Bharat train for us. We anticipate more to come. I want to thank you again.”
