Howrah (West Bengal): A dedicated service to transmit meds through drones was started in Kolkata as part of a significant effort to avoid traffic jams and deliver medications on time. The Start-up ‘Technit Space’ and ‘Aero Works’ (TSAW) came up with this initiative.

Orders are taken through a mobile app and medicines are delivered to the needy through a drone. Certain types of drugs will initially be delivered via drones. Medicine bundles from wholesalers to retailers have also been sent by drone. The current drone service is from Howrah to Salt Lake Sector 5.

Apart from Howrah, the Entrepreneurs are planning to start drone delivery in eight more places in West Bengal in the coming days.

Technit Space and Aeroworks is a Delhi-based drone manufacturer. Along with the launch of drone-medicine delivery, it plans to expand the service to sectors like FMCG and e-commerce.

TSAW Associate Vice President Arpit Sharma said, “We will soon introduce high-range drones that can cover nearby towns and cities.”
