UAE writes a new history by successfully launching its Moon Mission
UAE-built Rashid Rover launched into space on December 11, 2022, at 11:38 am (UAE time)
UAE became the fourth country and the first from the Arab world to attempt the Moon mission
The mission was delayed a few times due to weather and other reasons
A group of skilled people have worked hard to achieve this dream
Abdulla Al Shehhi – Rover Mechanical Engineering Lead, Ahmed Sharaf – Electrical Systems Lead, Reem Al Mehisni – Rover Thermal Engineering Lead of Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), Dubai, are three key figures
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carried the Rashid Rover
The rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida
The compact rover with low mass would land on the Moon’s far north side
It will check Lunar’s surface plasma, Lunar dust, data for the development of new technologies, and collect data about the origins of our solar system and the earth
The rover will land in April 2023, about five months after the launch
