Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian cricketer who is well-known for his “helicopter” shots and his ability to remain composed under pressure, has unveiled a camera-drone dubbed Droni. Garuda Aerospace, a drone manufacturer situated in Tamil Nadu, produces the high-tech made-in-India product.
According to inventor and CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Droni would be available in India by the end of 2022 and be used for “various surveillance objectives.” Jayaprakash made this point on Monday at the Global Drone Expo.
In June of this year, Dhoni was named the startup’s brand ambassador. Jayaprakash founded Garuda Aerospace in 2016, which makes agricultural drones. In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, it gained notoriety last year for collaborating with the Indian government to carry out drone-based sanitization programmes.
It is prepared to enter the B2C market with Droni after functioning in the B2B sector for the past six years.
The former Indian team captain told a crowded audience that during the pandemic-induced lockdown, he developed an interest in agriculture. He also emphasised how critical it is to give farmers access to drones. Kisan Drone, a new indigenous product from Garuda Aerospace, was introduced today. A battery-powered drone with this capability may spray agricultural pesticides across a 30-acre field area each day.
