India’s Toy Imports Drop By 70% & Exports Up 61%

Make-in-India initiative has yielded positive results for the toy sector in the country

The import of toys has declined 70% while 61% surge in exports seen in the last three years

The import of toys to India has reduced from USD 371 million in the 2018-19 fiscal year to USD 110 million in the 2021-22 fiscal year

This reported a decrease of 70.35%

Anil Agrawal, Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), highlighted the clarion call “Rebranding the Indian Toy Story”
