Dubai’s Digital Infrastructure opens new avenues for global tech and business talents
Dubai is becoming the new dream destination of techies and entrepreneurs. As Dubai is building its ‘Digital Infrastructure’ to evolve as a knowledge-based economy, tech-savvy youngsters are keen on everything that is happening there. The intervention by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy to push digital business infrastructure is another step toward the concept of a Knowledge Economy.
According to H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Dubai’s new strategy will position the country as the global leader in the next two years. The nation is trying to be a potential market for foreign digital investments and top global talent. In fact, Dubai is prepping to host 300 digital startups in a span of two years.
Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is in the process of proposing further improvements and changes to the current laws and policies to ease the process. The recent initiative, Dubai 10X aims to place the emirate’s government entities 10 years ahead of the rest of the world. Digital Silk Road, one of the Dubai 10X projects, leverages blockchain tech to simplify global trade.
To enhance the logistics sector, UAE recently announced Dubai Maritime City (DMC) which would cost AED 140 million. According to Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World which commissions DMC, ‘innovation, constant development, and excellence are the key pillars of Dubai Maritime City.’
