India has an ‘unprecedented’ opportunity to grow electronics manufacturing to $300 bn in the 3-4 years.

MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar said this is possible by building on the scale, competitiveness, large market and enabling policies.

The world is seeking more trusted sources for electronics manufacturing post-Covid outbreak.

India has all the essential elements in place to seize the opportunity, he said.

He released a document on ‘increasing India’s electronics exports and share in Global Value Chain’.

The sector has the potential to become one of the top exports of India.

An important export hub could be created in the country, the document said.

The report seeks to lower input tariffs and reduction of policy-related operational delays.
