The Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) will now conduct compliance audits of social media companies every quarter.To tighten the noose on social media platforms, the government has proposed to set up an appellate panel which will have power to overrule decisions taken by social media companies with respect to any grievance. The public consultation process with respect to the proposed rule has been wrapped up by the IT ministry.

Adani Enterprises arm Adani Road Transport Ltd will acquire a 100% stake in Andhra Pradesh toll roads portfolio (STPL) and 56.8% stake in Gujarat toll roads portfolio (GRICL), from Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund (MAIF).ARTL will acquire 56.8% in GRICL and 100% stake in STPL subject to regulatory approval. The launch of 5G services by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will happen on September 29 and not on Independence Day as planned earlier. The launch will coincide with the opening ceremony of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022. The PM has already inaugurated the country’s first 5G testbed on May 17, which would enable start-ups and industry players to test and validate their products locally and reduce dependence on foreign facilities.
