MSME registrations on the government’s Udayam portal crossed 1 crore on August 2, 2022. The portal was launched on July 1, 2020, redefining the MSME sector. The registered businesses have employed 7.6 crore people, including 1.7 crore women. In the FY21-22 alone 18.34 lakh MSMEs registered on the portal, employing 1.16 crore people. Haryana got the highest number of MSME registrations in the financial year followed by Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. In Haryana, the 66,767 MSMEs registered at the portal generated 3.36 lakh jobs. Reports say that both Adani and Ambani are planning to install two compressed biogas (CBG) plants. Adani’s plants would come in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Reliance Industries is yet to confirm the locations. The plants will have a capacity of 40 million tonnes per annum, and both the companies will invest up to Rs 600 crore to build the plants. WhatsApp banned more than 2.2 million Indian accounts in June after users reported abusive content. According to market data firm Statista, there are more than 487 million WhatsApp users in India. WhatsApp has to publish a monthly report to follow India’s Information Technology Rules, 2021. It banned more than 1.9 million accounts in May. And over 1.6 million in April WhatsApp said its grievance officer received 632 complaints in June 2022. It has banned 64 accounts after the review of the complaints.

That was the largest funding round for an Indian agritech startup. Reports say that 500 people were sacked. But, DeHaat says the number is not in the triple digits. NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission launched the second phase Atal Incubation Centres and Atal Community Innovation Centres will be set up as part of this.
