According to deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, the Delhi government has urged the Centre that the country’s retail commerce sector be improved by streamlining registration requirements and enacting cutting-edge business practises. Regarding the future national retail trade policy, the government has issued a letter with five recommendations to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) of the central government. RBI’s card-on-file (CoF) tokenisation norms come into effect from October 1. The credit and debit card rules will change with this. The new rules expect to improve the payment experience of cardholders. The shopper will have to enter entire card details when shopping. Once the purchase begins, the merchant will start tokenisation. It will ask for consent to tokenise the card. Once it is approved, the merchant will put a request to the card network.
