Amazon’s Alexa might soon mimic the voice of the user’s dear ones even if they are dead. It would mimic the voice based on less than a minute of provided recording. The capability was revealed at Amazon’s Re:Mars 2022 held in Las Vegas. Rohit Prasad, vice president and head scientist for Alexa, said the feature was to build greater trust in Alexa’s interactions with users by putting more human attributes of empathy and affect. Amazon found the feature important during the pandemic due to high death rates. The brand has not disclosed when the feature will be launched.
BYD, has entered the India book of records with the e6 EV, having covered 1,000km on a single charge. The BYD e6 covered over 2203km from Mumbai to New Delhi, covering 9 cities across 4 states. To date, the BYD e6 covered a total of 47,957,202km across India with its partners. It is equivalent to 10,883 round trips from Mumbai to Delhi. The e6 is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh. The 70kWh electric motor in the BYD e6 produces 94 bhp and 180 Nm of peak torque. It has the capability to reach a top speed of 130 kmph.
Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.Ltd (CATL) unveiled a new electric car battery. It is named ‘Qilin’ after a mythical Chinese creature. The battery has a range of over 1,000 km on a single charge. CATL is a Chinese EV battery maker. Also, the world’s biggest EV battery maker CATL claims Qilin is faster, safer and more durable than other batteries. It has an energy density of up to 255 watt-hours per kilogram.
Pine Labs acquires Setu for $70-75 million.Setu is a fintech infrastructure provider .It was launched by Sahil Kini and Nikhil Kumar in 2018.It lets users safely share their financial data. It can be used for billing, savings, credit, and payments.The acquisition is a strategic move to strengthen Pine Labs.

Hindustan Motors Ltd on Tuesday said it has agreed to sell its ‘Contessa’ brand to SG Corporate Mobility Pvt Ltd. The sum is undisclosed. The company has executed a brand transfer agreement with SG Corporate Mobility Pvt Ltd on June 16, 2022 for the transfer of the Contessa brand. It includes the trademarks having application number and certain related rights of the brand. The transfer of the brand shall be effective upon fulfilment of the terms and conditions as prescribed in the agreement.
Ferrari plans to launch around 15 new cars by 2026. It will be the brand’s first pure electric vehicle. It will also include a new range-topping supercar and several additions to the Icona series. Ferrari currently has four model lines in series production – the Ferrari Roma, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Ferrari 296 GTB and Ferrari SF90 – in a 50-50 mix of pure-combustion and hybrid models. Ferrari’s first pure-electric car is claimed to leverage “strong commonalities with the internal combustion engine”.
