The Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has launched the platform MAARG (Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth), a portal for mentorship for startups across sectors and geographies. The portal will go live on January 16. The matchmaking phase of the portal will let startups connect with mentors and discuss their needs. During the event, the minister will also award outstanding startups that have shown exceptional capabilities in terms of financial gains and measurable impact on society. The winners will receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh each. Rs 15 lakh will be awarded to one outstanding incubator and one accelerator each.

Startups with a DIPP Unique ID can petition for income tax exemption, according to Khushbu Verma, a spokesman of Startup India. Startups that have been established for less than ten years are eligible for this exemption. Startups would be excluded from paying income tax for up to three years in a row, according to Khushbu Verma’s statement to channeliam.com.
