Indian Railways introduces first aluminium freight rake. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated it at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. It has been fully designed and developed in India. It was done in collaboration with HINDALCO, RDSO, and Besco Wagon. The single rake in its lifetime saves over 14,500 tonnes of CO2. It is 85 percent recyclable and has 180 ton extra carrying capacity. It is lightweight and requires lower maintenance. Compared to steel rakes, it has a longer life. It is part of India’s initiative to build a green network.
Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals are being created to handle railroad cargo in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Gati Shakti” vision and the Ministry of Railways’ policy for the “Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal” (GCT) (announced on December 15, 2021). A total of 96 further places have been tentatively identified for the creation of GCTs, and 15 GCTs have already been put into operation. It has been planned to commission 100 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals throughout the course of the following three fiscal years. Based on industrial demand and the possibility for freight traffic, GCT locations are chosen.
The government intends to use the roughly 15,000-strong network of the 43 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in the nation to provide credit to rural consumers by pushing them to broaden their portfolio by including new segments. Ather Energy, a maker of electric two-wheelers with headquarters in Bengaluru, has raised 400.6 (about $ 50 million) in a new investment round that was co-led by Herald Square Ventures and an existing investor, Caladium Investment.
