India opens its first gold ATM at Begumpet, Hyderabad. It is also the world’s first real-time gold ATM.Goldsikka’s ATM dispenses gold coins of different denominations.It ranges from 0.5 gm to 100 gms.Prices will be displayed on the screen.Coins are certified with 999 purity.One can get coins with debit or credit cards.Hyderabad-based Opencube Technologies provided the technology support.Goldsikka plans to establish 30,000 ATMs across India in two years.
After a period of market study, the Reserve Bank of India has finally announced the launch of its first Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). The pilot would take place in select locations in a closed user group (CUG). The digital token e-Rupee, which would be issued in the same denominations as paper currency and coins, will be distributed via banks. The pilot will assess the feasibility of the e-Rupee. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) issued a set of guidelines for platform services (PS) by multi-system operators (MSOs), on November 30, 2022. As per the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, MSOs can transmit their programming service either directly to their own subscribers or via one or more local cable operators. MSOs are given a 12-month period to comply with these guidelines issued in accordance with Rule 6(6) of the Cable Television Network Rules.
