The Indian Minister of Education has officially allowed the University of Liverpool to start a campus in Bengaluru, announced at an event in New Delhi.

Courses and Student Benefits
The new Bengaluru campus will begin in August 2026, offering courses like Business Management, Accounting and Finance, Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences, and Game Design—the first UK university in India to offer this. Students will follow the same high-quality curriculum as in Liverpool, gaining skills for future careers or higher studies.
International Opportunities
Students in Bengaluru can take part in global exchange programs, studying in Liverpool or other countries. UK students will also have the chance to study in Bengaluru.
Existing Partnerships and Research
The University already works closely with Bengaluru and Karnataka through research projects, including one that helped the World Health Organization with vaccine guidelines, saving many lives. It also partners with the Indian Institute of Science and companies like Hindustan Unilever. Collaborations extend to Delhi University and the All India Institute for Medical Sciences.
New Collaborations
At the campus launch, the University signed agreements with groups like AstraZeneca, Dream11, and others. Soon, deals with Wipro and Axis Bank will follow. The campus will focus on research that helps solve local and global problems.
Leaders’ Views
University leaders are excited about the approval and India’s goal to grow higher education. They aim to provide excellent education, improve job skills, and support research.
