Billionaire businessman Ravi Pillai, founder of the RP Group, has added a Gulfstream G600 private jet worth ₹650 crore to his luxury fleet. The jet arrived at Kochi airport, where it was welcomed with a traditional water salute. Pillai stated the primary reason for purchasing the jet was to save time, citing the inefficiencies of regular air travel for a busy entrepreneur.

Traditional Welcome and Custom Interiors
The Gulfstream G600 was ceremonially welcomed with Indian-style rituals, including a puja by a priest. The aircraft was then brought into a private hangar. The jet, known for its advanced range and comfort, was customized to meet Pillai’s preferences, featuring additions like a kitchen. It can fly at altitudes of up to 51,000 ft with a range of approximately 12,223 km.
Additional Aircraft in Fleet
Ravi Pillai also owns an Airbus H145 helicopter, becoming the first person in India to acquire one. The helicopter was delivered in Kovalam and completed its maiden flight to the Raviz Ashtamudi resort, which is part of his hospitality group. With only 1,500 units being manufactured globally, the H145 is a rare and high-performance model, accommodating two pilots and seven passengers.
Luxury Car Collection
Alongside his aircraft, Pillai’s automobile collection reflects his taste for luxury and exclusivity:
- Rolls-Royce Ghost: Purchased in 2011 and kept at his residence in Kollam, this car is among his most frequently used vehicles.
- Mercedes-Maybach S600: Pillai was the first buyer of this model in South India. The sedan includes premium features and is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine.
- Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography: The all-black SUV was featured at his daughter’s wedding and remains a symbol of luxury and power.
- Mercedes-Maybach S500: This high-end sedan was gifted during his daughter’s wedding, adding to the family’s fleet of prestigious vehicles.
