Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates praised India’s rapid advancements in technology and innovation, emphasizing that these developments are driving progress both locally and globally. During his visit to India, he held discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several key leaders on topics related to sustainability, healthcare, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Key Discussions with PM Modi and Other Leaders

After meeting PM Narendra Modi, Gates shared on X (formerly Twitter) that their conversation focused on India’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, as well as significant advancements in health, agriculture, and AI. Modi described the discussion as insightful, highlighting the commitment to using technology and innovation to create a better future.

In a meeting with Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Gates reviewed the ongoing collaboration between the Indian government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the healthcare sector. Nadda commended the Foundation’s contributions in maternal health, immunization, and sanitation, reaffirming plans to renew cooperation to ensure accessible healthcare for all.

During the Raisina Dialogue, Gates met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, discussing global challenges, the power of innovation, and India’s role in shaping solutions.

Focus on AI, Healthcare, and Agriculture

In a separate meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Gates explored ways to utilize AI and predictive analytics to improve healthcare, education, agriculture, and employment generation. Naidu praised the Gates Foundation’s role in advancing Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047, a long-term vision for the state’s development.

Gates also met Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan to discuss food security, rural development, and the role of AI and machine learning in agriculture. Chauhan noted that the Foundation has been actively working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with plans for expanded collaboration.

Parliament Visit and Future Collaborations

As part of his engagements, Gates visited Parliament amid the ongoing Budget Session, further emphasizing his commitment to supporting India’s development initiatives.

With India emerging as a global leader in technology, AI, and healthcare, Gates’ interactions with key decision-makers signal stronger partnerships and future collaborations aimed at fostering sustainable growth and innovation.
