In a true reflection of his words, Gautam Adani, the billionaire chairman of the Adani Group, kept his promise of a simple and traditional wedding for his son, Jeet Adani. The wedding, held in Ahmedabad, was a far cry from the speculated extravagant affair.
A Generous Wedding Gift
Staying true to his values, Gautam Adani also made a monumental gesture by donating INR 10,000 crore on the occasion of Jeet’s wedding. This donation will be directed toward various social causes, aligning with Adani’s philosophy of service and selflessness, encapsulated in the principles of “सेवा साधना है, सेवा प्राथमिकता है, और सेवा ही परमात्मा है.”

The donation is expected to fund significant infrastructure projects in healthcare, education, and skill development, ensuring access to affordable world-class hospitals, schools, and global skill academies for all sections of society.
A Simple Celebration
In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Gautam Adani shared that the wedding was a small, intimate ceremony with close family and friends. He expressed regret for not being able to invite everyone, despite wanting to. The ceremony, which was held at the Belvedere Club in Adani Shantigram, was attended by a limited number of guests, with no politicians, celebrities, or public figures in sight. Jeet Adani, who heads Adani Airports, married Diva Shah, the daughter of diamond trader Jaimin Shah.

Launching Social Initiatives
Two days before the wedding, Gautam Adani also announced the ‘Mangal Seva’ program, which will provide financial assistance to newly married women with disabilities. The initiative will begin by offering INR 10 lakh to 500 such women each year. Jeet Adani also met 21 newly married women and their husbands to launch the program.
Setting an Example
Gautam Adani’s actions on his son’s wedding day go beyond personal celebration and focus on giving back to the community. This thoughtful gesture of “Seva Over Self” has set a new precedent for celebrating milestones, focusing on impactful change over public displays of wealth.
