ShoeallS, a South Korean company specialising in medical and smart footwear, has approached the Telangana government seeking 750 acres of land to establish a shoe production facility. This project represents an investment of ₹300 crore.
Meeting with Minister D. Sridhar Babu
During a meeting with Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu on October 24, 2024, the leadership team of ShoeallS presented their proposal. The company’s Chairman, Cheonggn Lee, emphasised plans to create a Giga factory that could generate employment for approximately 87,000 people.
Innovative Footwear Production
The proposed factory aims to produce cutting-edge products, including medical chip-embedded soles and footwear capable of generating 25 watts of electricity for every 10,000 steps. Additionally, ShoeallS plans to manufacture specialised footwear designed to aid recovery for individuals suffering from diabetes and arthritis.
Smart Footwear with GPS Technology
The company also intends to develop GPS-enabled shoes that can track children and the elderly, enhancing their safety. These smart shoes will feature alert systems to notify family members in case of emergencies or accidents. Minister Sridhar Babu acknowledged the proposal’s significance and assured that it would be prioritised for evaluation.
Vision for a Smart Health City
In a separate proposal, ShoeallS expressed interest in establishing a Smart Health City if 5,000 acres of land can be allocated. This health city would encompass world-class hospitals, research centres, and biomedical facilities, with a focus on development in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
Review of Times Square Project
Additionally, Minister Sridhar Babu reviewed the design concepts for an iconic Times Square project planned at Raidurgam junction in Hyderabad. He highlighted the importance of creating a vibrant area that attracts visitors around the clock, similar to New York’s Times Square, suggesting the use of large electronic displays and diverse business and entertainment spaces to enhance the visitor experience.
