Dubai Police has officially launched its latest tourist patrol vehicle, the Lucid Air Grand Touring, a highly advanced electric car. The unveiling took place at the Dubai Police Officers Club, where His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, received a comprehensive handover from Faisal Sultan, Vice President and Managing Director Middle East at Lucid.

The launch event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Brigadier Harib Al Shamsi, and various officers and employees from the police force.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri emphasised that the introduction of the Lucid Air aligns with Dubai Police’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s green economy vision. He highlighted the initiative’s role in enhancing the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 by incorporating advanced technologies that foster sustainable growth. He added that the initiative aims to lower carbon emissions and prioritise clean energy in daily operations.

The addition of the electric Lucid Air Grand Touring enriches the Tourist Police Department’s fleet, boosting police visibility, especially in tourist hotspots and during community events. Lt. Gen. Al Marri noted that this initiative strengthens the bond between Dubai Police and the community.
Lucid’s Role in Electrification
Faisal Sultan expressed pride in supporting Dubai Police’s electrification efforts. With the opening of their first retail studio in City Walk, he looks forward to expanding Lucid’s presence in Dubai.

Performance of the Lucid Air Grand Touring
The Lucid Air Grand Touring boasts 819 horsepower and is the first production vehicle to achieve a WLTP estimated range of up to 839 km on a single charge. The 2024 model has seen advancements in technology, including features first introduced in the Lucid Air Sapphire, enhancing its range and charging capabilities.
