Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has unveiled the “Jio AI-Cloud Welcome Offer,” set to launch around Diwali this year. This initiative will provide Jio users with up to 100 GB of free cloud storage. The offer aims to make cloud data storage and AI-powered services widely accessible across India.
Expanding AI and Cloud Services
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of RIL, highlighted the importance of this new offering during the company’s 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM). He emphasised that the Jio AI-Cloud Welcome Offer will enable users to securely store and access their digital content, including photos, videos, and documents. The service is designed to be a powerful and cost-effective solution for cloud data storage and AI services.
Jio Brain: A Comprehensive AI Platform
To facilitate AI adoption, Reliance’s telecom arm, Jio, is developing a suite of tools and platforms known as “Jio Brain.” This comprehensive suite aims to support the entire AI lifecycle, making it easier for users to integrate AI into their daily lives.
Jio’s Achievements and Future Vision
Ambani also praised Jio’s role in revolutionising India’s digital landscape. He noted that Jio has significantly advanced India’s 5G network, becoming one of the fastest-growing 5G services globally. Jio True 5G has quickly garnered over 130 million customers.
Ambani reiterated Jio’s commitment to democratising AI through its “AI Everywhere For Everyone” vision. He announced plans to establish gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres in Jamnagar, powered by Reliance’s green energy, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.
Innovations and Patents
Ambani shared that Jio is a leading patent holder in India, with over 350 patents related to 5G and 6G technologies. He also mentioned Reliance’s recent patent filings in bio-energy, solar energy, and high-value chemicals.
Introducing Jio Phonecall AI
Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), introduced a new service called Jio Phonecall AI. This feature allows users to record, store, transcribe, summarise, and translate phone calls into text, making conversations easily accessible and understandable across languages.
