The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an has unveiled its latest social incubator program, in collaboration with startAD, a startup accelerator powered by Tamkeen and hosted at NYU Abu Dhabi. This new initiative, titled “Entrepreneurship for Social Impact,” aims to foster the growth of social enterprises focused on addressing Abu Dhabi’s social challenges.
Program Focus and Eligibility
The Ma’an social incubator is designed to cultivate a network of innovative social enterprises that bring best practices to solve pressing issues. Startups with missions targeting priorities such as support for people of determination, senior citizens, youth rehabilitation, and blue-collar workers’ well-being are encouraged to apply. Additionally, ventures focused on domestic violence victim support, individual reintegration, and economic empowerment are eligible.
Opportunities and Support
The incubator aims to support a diverse range of founders by accepting applicants of all nationalities and ages. Selected startups will receive comprehensive support packages, including resources for networking, mentorship, and funding based on milestone achievements. The program will assist 30 promising startups in the upcoming cohorts, providing them with valuable opportunities to connect with private and government partners, as well as potential investors.
Program Benefits
Participants will enjoy access to workspaces, tech discounts, masterclasses, endorsements for the UAE golden visa, and ongoing post-program support. According to Salma Gharama, Social Entrepreneurship Division Director at Ma’an, the program is crafted to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs, enabling them to create sustainable impacts and contribute to knowledge sharing within the Abu Dhabi community.
