Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has soared to new heights with a remarkable increase in his brand value. According to the latest Kroll Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023, Kohli’s brand is now valued at $227.9 million, marking a substantial $51 million surge from the previous year.
The report highlights Kohli’s diverse portfolio encompassing over 40 brands across various industries, underscoring his appeal as a brand ambassador. Notably, he recently joined forces with the Indian arm of Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) as a prominent brand influencer.
Surpassing Bollywood powerhouse Ranveer Singh, who holds the second position with a brand value of $203.1 million, Kohli continues to extend his lead in India’s coveted list of top celebrities by brand value. This year, India’s top 25 celebrities collectively amassed an impressive $1.9 billion in brand value, reflecting a robust 15.5% year-on-year growth.
Shah Rukh Khan, buoyed by the success of recent films like “Jawaan” and “Pathaan,” maintains a strong presence at third place with a brand value of $120.7 million. Akshay Kumar follows closely behind in fourth place with $111.7 million, while Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone round out the top six with brand values of $101.1 million and $96 million respectively.
A noteworthy addition to the list this year is Katrina Kaif, marking her debut among India’s most valued celebrity brands after an absence of five years.
Kohli’s ascendancy in the rankings is attributed to his exceptional performance both on and off the cricket field, highlighted by his outstanding season with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2024 IPL edition and his impressive showing at the T20 World Cup.
