Dubai announced that all teachers across the emirate will undergo training in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The announcement was made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.
This initiative, overseen by the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence in partnership with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), is part of the newly launched Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI). The comprehensive training aims to equip educators with the skills and vision to harness AI, fostering a new generation of learners adept in technological advancements.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the critical role of teachers in driving Dubai’s educational excellence and future-readiness. “Our goal is to empower teachers with AI skills to enhance their professional capabilities and enrich the educational experience for our students,” he stated. “This initiative underscores our commitment to innovation, excellence in education, and preparing our future generations for what lies ahead.”
Key Aspects of the Initiative:
- Every teacher in Dubai will receive training in AI, preparing them to integrate AI tools and methodologies into their teaching practices.
- The initiative will be led by this center in collaboration with KHDA, ensuring that the training aligns with the highest standards and strategic goals of Dubai’s educational framework.
- The top ten teachers demonstrating the most innovative use of AI in education will be awarded a total of Dh1 million during the AI Retreat on April 29, 2025.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that this initiative aligns with the broader vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Dubai’s future. “We are committed to being prepared for what the future holds and ensuring the best outcomes for our nation,” he said. “Dubai aspires to make its schools the best in the world at leveraging AI solutions, with teachers as the cornerstone of this progress.”
He also pointed out that the global educational landscape is on the brink of transformative changes with the introduction of AI, augmented reality, and virtual reality. “Education worldwide will see radical changes with new tools and unique learning environments supported by AI technologies,” Sheikh Hamdan noted.
