The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has secured impressive rankings in various infrastructure categories, solidifying its position as a global leader in efficiency and development, as per a recent report by the World Economic Forum. According to the Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024 report, the UAE stands out for its exceptional road quality, efficient port services, and well-structured public transport system.
The UAE has been recognized as the fifth best globally and the top performer among Arab countries in terms of road quality. Additionally, the country ranked ninth globally and first among Arab nations for the efficiency of its port services, and tenth globally and second among Arab countries for the efficiency of its public transport services. These rankings highlight the UAE’s commitment to maintaining high standards and fostering innovation in its infrastructure sector.
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, attributed these achievements to the visionary leadership of the UAE and emphasized that they underscore the success of the country’s long-term strategic plans. He expressed confidence in the UAE’s ability to continue growing and evolving as a hub of innovation and excellence on the global stage.
Al Mazrouei stated, “Our proactive approach and strategic planning across various sectors demonstrate the UAE’s ambition to be recognized globally for innovation and excellence. By excelling in global indicators, we aim to enhance international investor confidence in our reliable business environment.”
Hanan Mansour Ahli, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, highlighted the significance of the UAE’s infrastructure achievements in attracting foreign investments and boosting the country’s GDP. Ahli emphasized that the UAE’s well-developed infrastructure, adherence to high standards, and best practices serve as a benchmark for quality in roads, public transport, and port services.
