Super 30″ is a biographical film based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30, which helps underprivileged students prepare for the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). While the movie primarily focuses on Anand Kumar’s journey, there are several lessons entrepreneurs can glean from it:

  1. Vision and Purpose: Anand Kumar’s vision was to provide quality education to underprivileged students and empower them to achieve their dreams. Entrepreneurs can learn the importance of having a clear vision and purpose behind their ventures. Understanding the ‘why’ behind their business can serve as a guiding light during challenging times.
  2. Resourcefulness: Despite facing numerous obstacles, including financial constraints and societal pressure, Anand Kumar displayed remarkable resourcefulness. Entrepreneurs often encounter unexpected challenges in their journey, and being resourceful in finding solutions is crucial for success. This may involve leveraging existing resources creatively or building new partnerships.
  3. Resilience and Perseverance: Anand Kumar’s journey was fraught with setbacks, but he remained resilient and persevered in his mission. Entrepreneurs also face failures, rejection, and criticism along their entrepreneurial journey. Learning to bounce back from setbacks and staying committed to their goals is essential for long-term success.
  4. Empathy and Social Impact: Anand Kumar’s dedication to helping underprivileged students highlights the importance of empathy and social impact in entrepreneurship. Building a business that not only generates profits but also creates positive change in society can lead to greater fulfillment and long-term sustainability.
  5. Mentorship and Giving Back: Anand Kumar served as a mentor and guide to the students in his Super 30 program, providing them with not just academic support but also emotional encouragement. Entrepreneurs can learn the value of mentorship and giving back to their communities. Supporting others on their journey can not only make a difference in their lives but also enrich one’s own entrepreneurial experience.

These lessons from “Super 30” underscore the importance of purpose-driven entrepreneurship, resilience, and empathy in building successful ventures that make a meaningful impact on society.
