Kaviya Maran, the CEO and co-owner of SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), has captured the attention of netizens and media alike, emerging as a charismatic figure in both the business and sports worlds. With her recent appearance during the IPL match between SRH and MI on 27 March 2024, her growing rapport with the media is evident, marking a shift from previous encounters where she expressed irritation at intrusive cameramen.

Born on 6 August 1992 in Chennai to Kalanithi and Kavery Maran, Kaviya Maran hails from a powerful and influential family deeply entrenched in various spheres of society. Her father, Kalanithi Maran, is a billionaire media mogul and the Chairman and founder of the Sun Group, co-owning SRH alongside Kaviya. Notably, Kavery Maran, her mother, holds the position of CEO at Solar TV Community Restricted, ranking among India’s highest-paid businesswomen.

The Maran family boasts a lineage intertwined with politics, with Kaviya’s uncle, Dayanidhi Maran, being a prominent figure associated with the DMK Party. Furthermore, Kavya’s father is the grand-nephew of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Muthuvel Karunanidhi, further solidifying the family’s political influence and legacy.

Given her illustrious background, it comes as no surprise that Kaviya Maran commands a significant net worth. According to reports from Jan Bharat Times, her net worth stands at an impressive USD 50 million (INR 409 crore approximately). Additionally, her father, Kalanithi Maran, topped the Tamil Nadu IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2019 with a staggering net worth of INR 19,000 crore, further highlighting the family’s considerable wealth and influence.

Beyond her financial prowess, Kaviya Maran’s role as CEO and co-owner of SRH underscores her commitment to both business and sports, bridging the gap between two dynamic industries. As she continues to navigate the realms of entrepreneurship and sporting excellence, Kaviya Maran’s journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring leaders and enthusiasts alike, epitomizing the fusion of business acumen and passion for sports on a grand stage.
